Mr Masoud Al-Barazani criticized the ones who objected his decision to replace the current (Baath) Iraqi Flag from all official building in Kurdistan. He characterized them as baathist members and belong to the same group which lead in the past Al-Anfal Killing campaign and used the chemical weapons against the Kurds. The Current flag is replaced with the Iraqi flag used in the pre-baath era from 1958-1963.
In a letter sent to Mr Al-Mashadani, Mr Al_Barazani demanded to solve the Flag problem according to the Article 12 of the constitution which clearly specify “ A law should be issued specify the Iraq flag and the National anthem which should symbolize the ingredients of Iraqi People”. The president of Federal Kurdistan state accused in his letter baathist to wage attack against Kurds.
