Brigadier Ghassan Al-Baweei director of Diyala police force revealed the number of victims of the violence in the province since the topple of Saddam regime : 9000 dead 7000 of them Shia, 5200 displaced families 4500 of them Shia, destroy and set fire in 420 farms 350 of them belong to Shia in addition to destroy and explode 45 religious building all belong to Shia.
The above were his answers to questions by members of Diyala province council from the Iraqi Islamic party who objected the quick response operations planned and conducted by joint forces of Defence and Interior ministries to arrest specified targets proofed through intelligence information they responsible for the violence and sectarian cleansing in Baquba and Khan Beni Saad.
Al-Baweei said during a session of the Diyala province council which joined by Mr Raad Mula Rasheed , province governor with his deputies and members of American Embassy representatives”The current security situation requires a wide spread not limited operations” he added “ Police forces failed to reach and remove bodies of 6 victims laid in Al-Kadoon area because of the dense firing from houses overlook the main road. Then we needed a support from the multi national forces and Iraqi army to remove the bodies after 24 hours”
He indicated “ The executed parts of the quick response operation were very useful to get confessions important and serious information link some province official figures to the terrorism. We are in process to analyse and compare it to what we previously have before report to the officials in Baghdad”
Al-Baweei added “The threat letters to government employee to attend their work distributed in Baquba city were printed in the government offices with the support and encouragement of the managers and officials”
