.Police commander of Ninawa governorate said that violent confrontation witnessed yesterday in Mosul city ended with killing six terrorists and wounding four police officers.
Major general Abdul Qader Al-Hamadani clarified that “At 5.30 p.m. on Sunday, armed terrorists groups coordinated simultaneous attacks on some police stations located outskirts of the Mosul city with mortar shells and R.P.G and Katyusha rockets”.
Al-Hamadani pointed out that such attacks “comes as a new series of armed terrorists groups attempts to overthrow the city of Mosul , through attacking police stations located on the city edges and use it to control the city”. He stressed that the police are fully aware of these plans.
Witnesses of Al-Wehda district residents said that Al-Salam hospital in the area had some damages following the intense shells bombing today.
